"One of the very few surviving leather crafters in Greenwich Village from an era when the village was the place to go to shop the dozens of leather stores. Founded in 1969 on Bleecker St. The awning is still protecting the familiar storefront windows of 203 Bleecker that were full of the hats, belts, bags, wallets, knives, jackets, vests, belt buckles and samples of sandals for custom ordering. New York is a big city made up of hundreds of small close knit communities. The block of Carmine Street from Bleecker to Bedford is one such extended family of Shop keepers and residents that adopted Native Leather with open arms in 2017."
